Dragon Ball Super Episode 34 Summary
On the last episode of Dragon Ball Super, Super Saiyan Goku had just falled at the hands of final form Frost.
As Dragon Ball Super Episode 34 begins, we see Goku’s unconscious body lying outside the ring as the spectators from both sides look on with jaws agape. Chichi jumps down to the stage to attend to Goku. Frost follows behind her, and gives Goku some well wishes and tells Goku he’s not sure how he won, himself.
Goku returns to the spectator stands and apologizes to Beerus & Whis for his loss. Goku seems a bit confused that he was unable to defeat Frost as a Super Saiyan. Beerus is unimpressed with Goku’s apology, exclaiming that it’s this match that counts. Champa taunts Beerus from across the arena while Whis urges Beerus to calm down.
Next, we learn that Frost’s next Universe 7 opponent will be Piccolo. Piccolo asks Goku if he has a chance at beating Frost, and Goku nonchalantly says no. Goku tells Piccolo to do his best anyway, if for no other reason but to drain Frost’s energy for Vegeta.
Piccolo descends to the fighting stage and jokingly asks Frost if he intends to stay in his final form, saying to cut him a break. Frost asserts he lacks the energy to kill Piccolo, but doesn’t intend to lose. Frustratedly, Piccolo laments that people tend to treat him like a weakling. Then, Piccolo removes his training gear, piquing Frost’s curiosity.
Up in the stands, Vegeta has grown suspicious. He is sure that Goku would never lose to such a silly attack. Vegeta is sure something fishy is going on.
Champa shoots a ki blast and rings the gong. The match between Piccolo and Frost begins.
Frost tells Piccolo that he has already shown all of his abilities. “All I have left is my will,” Frost says.
Frost rushes at Piccolo, but Piccolo evades and teleports above the stage. Piccolo places his index and middle fingers on his forehead, preparing to retaliate with his trademark Special Beam Cannon. Goku recognizes Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon stance and becomes excited. Vegeta isn’t as impressed, characterizing the Special Beam Cannon as a flawed attack with an exposed weakness.
Below, it appears Frost has also picked up on the weakness, noting it appears Piccolo’s attack will be substantial, but requires a great deal of time to charge. Frost tries to interrupt Piccolo’s charging phase with some death beams, but Piccolo is able to evade while continuing to charge is Special Beam Cannon. With his free hand, Piccolo propels himself around the stage with ki energy. Apparently, Piccolo has learned to multitask the Special Beam Cannon with evasive movements.
Piccolo continues to evade and charge, until finally one of Frost’s death beams catches Piccolo’s leg, causing Piccolo to fall towards the fighting stage in pain. He recomposes himself, and we see he is still charging the Special Beam Cannon. Frost compliments Piccolo’s concentration.
Piccolo can no longer run around the stage, so he creates dozens of false copies of himself all around Frost. Frost desperately shoots beams in all directions, trying to disrupt Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon. As Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon charge intensifies, Frost releases energy in all directions. This eliminates all of the false images and exposes the true Piccolo. Frost goes in for the win, but Piccolo is able to deflect Frost’s blows with just one hand.
Then Frost goes low, and delivers a roundhouse to Piccolo’s knees. This appears to disrupt Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon charge and sends him flying towards the edge of the fighting stage.
Frost smugly closes his eyes and declares victory. Just then, we see Piccolo’s hand come into the frame and wrap around Frost with a snake-like constriction. To Frost’s surprise, Piccolo has extended his arm all the way from the other side of the stage. Then we see that Piccolo is still charging the Special Beam Cannon, and now he has Frost exactly where he wants him: trapped. Piccolo reveals he intentionally allowed Frost to hit him in the leg.
Then we see Frost slyly slip his hand up towards Piccolo’s arm. It appears there some sort of slit on Frost’s forearm.
Just as Piccolo is about to fire the Special Beam Cannon, we see confusion wash over him. His vision becomes blurry, and he becomes disoriented just as Goku did.
Frost breaks free as Piccolo’s grip weakens, and he rushes Piccolo. Frost admits he would have lost had Piccolo fired the Special Beam Cannon, then blasts Piccolo through the chest at close range. Piccolo flies backwards and fires the Special Beam Cannon upwards towards space, blasting a hole n the roof of the dome. Piccolo is now unconscious, and Frost is declared the winner.
Jaco jumps up and calls foul play. Jaco asserts that Frost is using a weapon, and tells the referee to check his right arm. Jaco says the weapon is a needle of some sort.
Despite objections from the Universe 6 team, the referee agrees to inspect Frost. The referee finds a tiny needly peeking from a protrusion on Frost’s arm. The referee gently touches it and passes out. Frost insists the needle is not a weapon, but rather a part of his body. When the referee comes to, he asserts there are obvious signs of tampering and modification. Frost is disqualified, and Piccolo is declared the victor.
The Universe 6 team is shocked that a person like Frost would do such a thing. Vados interjects and tells the team that is Frost’s true character. Apparently, Frost is more like Frieza than people thought. Vados also knows that Frost is secretly quite corrupt, orchestrating many of the very violent incidents he appeared to thwart. Frost tells Vados it isn’t very nice that she exposed him, and then begins laughing.
“I start wars and end them myself”, Frost admits. Frost goes on to explain it is actually a business scheme from which he profits. It appears Frost is more of a hustler compared to Frieza, whose aim is to conquer the entire Universe and rule over all.
Champa is enraged. He outstretches his hand and tells Frost he will destroy him as punishment. Vegeta interjects, telling Champa there is no need to destroy or even disqualify Frost. Vegeta says he will fight Frost and win.
Champa tells Frost that if he wins, all will be forgiven and he will even consider providing financial support.
As Dragon Ball Super Episode 34 ends, we see Vegeta preparing to square off against Frost.
