Dragon Ball Super Episode 32 Summary
The last episode of Dragon Ball Super ended with Jaco departing planet Earth with Geppuman tied up and ready to be turned into the authorities.
Dragon Ball Super Episode 32 begins a few days later. Up at Dende’s lookout, we see Dende playing a game of tennis with Mr. Popo. In the next shot, we Goku & Vegeta in the middle of an intense round of sparring inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. The sparring session ends, and both warriors are exhausted. Goku compliments Vegeta, saying that his own flaws really show during their sparring matches.
Goku is still thinking about Monaka, wondering how strong he is. Vegeta reminds Goku to focus on the match, pointing out that Monaka is their team member. Goku refuses to drop the topic until Vegeta insists they get back to their training.
Back at Capsule Corp, we see all of Goku & Vegeta’s friends gathered and ready to depart for the tournament. Whis is standing above them with a megaphone, telling them he will be guiding them to the match arena. There’s an interesting transparent cube below Whis – he instructs everyone to load in single file. There does not appear to be a door, but Whis demonstrates that you just walk through the Cube’s wall. Whis tells the group the first stop in their journey will be Beerus’ planet to meet up with Beerus & Monaka. Whis reminds everyone to use the bathroom before departing.
At the last minute, Jaco shows up. He has a tentacled creature with him, who appears to be wearing a crown. Bulma asks if the creature is his girlfriend, and Jaco snaps back that it is the Galactic King. Bulma says it’s a pleasure to meet him, but does not seem too impressed, to the chagrin of the Galactic King & Jaco. The Galactic King seems somewhat surprised at Bulma’s lack of surprise. Jaco explains it is because they are friends with Beerus & Whis.
Just then, Goku & Vegeta show up. Having just completed three years of training in three days, they are both bearded, filthy, and their clothes tattered. Bulma commands Vegeta & Goku to get in the shower as she holds her nose. They smell terrible.
A few minutes later, Vegeta & Goku are cleaned up. Krillin also shows up. Now the group is complete and boarded into the Cube. Whis taps his staff upon the roof of the Cube, and they depart for Beerus’ Planet.
Moments later, the group has arrived on Beerus’ Planet. They are all amazed at their surrounding, and everyone is seen looking around and taking pictures. Whis just asks everyone not to upload the photos to the internet. Then, we see Beerus emerging from the forest with a shadowy figure behind him.
We are then given our first look at Monaka. It turns out Monaka is a small pink creature with big ears. Vegeta immediately remarks that Monaka does not look strong, but Goku reminds him it is often unsuspecting opponents that end up being the most powerful. When Monaka gets closer, Goku walks up to him and begins inspecting him and sizing him up.
Goku introduces himself, and tells Monaka that Whis mentioned Monaka translates to Great Ponta. Goku asks Monaka what Ponta means, and Monaka tells Goku it means nipples. Goku looks down and notices Monaka has protruding nipples. Goku, sweating, laugh with a hint of awkwardness and says, “I see…”.
Then, not surprisingly, Goku turns the subject to sparring. He asks Monaka if they can spar a bit. Beerus pushes Goku’s face back and tells him to focus on his opponents from Universe 6. As Beerus & Monaka walk away, we see Goku struggling to contain himself. His fist is twitching and clenching, and then he can no longer control himself – he winds up and punches Monaka in the face. Everyone is shocked, and in the next frame we see Goku’s fist buried deep in Monaka’s face. When Goku pulls his fist back, Monaka’s face is badly damaged and he is crying.
Beerus runs up, slaps Goku in the back of the head, and reprimands him. Goku apologizes to Monaka. Monaka chokes back tears and says he is fine. Goku & Piccolo seem perplexed.
Now that they have picked up Beerus & Monaka, everyone is back in the Cube whizzing through space en route to the Nameless Planet. During the journey, Chichi is grilling food for everyone. She offers food to Vegeta, and he is ecstatic, revealing that he has not had a proper meal in three years.
We then see Goku offering some food to Monaka. Monaka tells Goku he limits his meat intake, and this is revelatory to Goku. Goku, being someone who eats literally everything, is so astounded by Monaka’s dietary management that he is now convinced Monaka must be the best.
A second later, Whis informs the group they have arrived at the Nameless Planet, and the Cube comes to an abrupt stop. As the group looks outside, they get their first look at the massive, planet-sized Super Dragon Balls.
Next, after whizzing across the surface of one of the Super Dragon Balls, the group arrives at the fighting arena. They descend through the upper membrane of the dome and are all taken aback by the level of effort that was put into designing the fighting stage. Goku asks Beerus if Champa was responsible for it, but Beerus explains that Gods of Destruction do not create. Rather, it was the work of Vados. Beerus also says he knows Champa didn’t create it because, if he had, it would be much uglier. Champa overhears Beerus, and descends from above to greet him.
Beerus & Champa exchange competitive banter, and Beerus asks Champa if he stole a few of the Super Dragon Ball from Universe 7. Champa pretends not to know what Beerus is talking about, but beads of sweat can be seen forming on Champa’s brow.
Vados begins explaining the layout of the arena. First, she points to the spectator seats, and Trunks immediately points out that they look hard and uncomfortable. Bulma concurs, asserting they have traveled a long way. Champa apathetically notes he never asked for them to attend, but Beerus says Bulma is correct, and the benches look cheap. Beerus tells Whis to make the seats more comfortable, and he obliges. With a few waves of his staff, Whis transforms the hard benches into luxurious seating areas with couches, tables, and plush surfaces. Champa discretely tells Vados she should have created something similar.
Then, more familiar faces show up. Old Kai, Supreme Kai, and Kibito show up. Goku is shocked that Supreme Kai and Kibito are now separated. Supreme Kai explains that they asked the Namekians to use the Dragon Balls to make it happen. Goku realizes that is why he couldn’t detect Kibito Kai’s energy when trying to utilize Instant Transmission earlier.
Then Goku turns his attention to a few other Kai’s we have not seen before. Goku takes a guess that they are the Kai’s from Universe 6. The Universe 6 Supreme Kai confirms Goku’s suspicions. The Universe 6 Supreme Kai is taken aback that the Universe 7 Kai’s are friends with humans.
We then get our first look at the warriors of Universe 6. They are seated at desks: there is a giant robot, a bear, a boy who appears to be a Saiyan, a warrior who very closely resembles Frieza, and an imposing purple warrior. The boy gets up from his seat and approaches the group to introduce himself. He asks Goku & Vegeta if they are Saiyans, and Goku asks how he knew. Vegeta immediately realizes that Universe 6 has Saiyans, as well. The boy confirms Vegeta’s suspicion, and Goku & Vegeta are shocked.
Goku notices the boy does not have a tail, and asks him wear it went. The young Saiyan seems confused by this question. Vegeta also notes the uniform resembles those the Universe 7 Saiyans wore prior to Frieza’s takeover. Vegeta asks what the name of the Saiyan home planet is in Universe 6, and the young Saiyan tells him Planet Sadala. Apparently, Planet Sadala used to exist in Universe 7, too, but was destroyed, forcing the Saiyans to steal a new planet, which they would later name Planet Vegeta. The young Saiyan is shocked by the use of the word “stole”. Apparently, the moral philosophy of the Universe 6 Saiyans is quite different than that of Universe 7.
It turns out that in Universe 6, Saiyans are good guys whose primary role is to defeat villains.
Vados interrupts the conversation and tells the group it is time to complete the written test. Vegeta sneaks in a request to the young Saiyan, asking him to take him to Planet Sadala one day, assuring him their days of stealing planets are in the past.
Next, we see everyone taking the written test. Goku & Vegeta seem a bit stressed, and Majin Buu appears to be extremely perplexed. Vados explains the test is to assess if each fighter possesses basic intelligence. The passing score is 50.
When the test is over, Beerus is angered because there are now only 4 warriors in the group. He demands to know where the missing fighter is. Goku explains that Majin Buu fell asleep, and we see Buu asleep at his desk. Goku also explains Buu is difficult, if not impossible, to wake up. With Majin Buu appearing to be out of the lineup, Beerus tells the rest of the group they’ll have to make up for it.
As Dragon Ball Super Episode 32 ends, the name of the big, yellow bear from Universe 6 is revealed to be Botamo. He will be the first fighter from Universe 6. Goku will fight first for Universe 7. The gong is rung, and the match begins.
